Leaks are silent killers that it gets worse by the minute.
It was only after the neighbor below became aware of the water stain that the issue was dealt with.
Since it was a rental condo, the owner wanted to fix it as inexpensive as possible.
So the viable option was to just remove the bottom row of tile.
everything from the wood studs out, was replaced with new materials and up to code.
a similar tile approved by the owner was installed where the repair was made
And the problem was solved
A bigger issue was found during the repair so the owner did not had to pay the damage below since the string grew bigger soon after the whole shower was open, and other drain pipes where discovered to be clogged and leaking worse the the shower liner. Good news for the owner, but not so good for the condo association.
